Love 2 Yeu Presents the “Journey of Dreams” – Vietnamese Rose Parade Float!

Starting with a $1 donation, you help ensure that the voices and stories of the 2.3 million Vietnamese Americans in the U.S. are heard and our community’s legacy is celebrated.

Celebrating the Vietnamese Lunar New Year and Cultural Heritage
Love 2 Yeu (L2Y) is proud to debut the second-ever Vietnamese float in the prestigious Rose Parade, titled “Journey of Dreams.”Created in collaboration with Artistic Entertainment Services (AES), this float celebrates Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, and honors the rich cultural heritage and resilience of Vietnamese Americans. It stands as a tribute to the courage and determination of immigrant families who embarked on life-changing journeys to the U.S. in pursuit of freedom and new beginnings.

About the “Journey of Dreams” Float

The central feature of “Journey of Dreams” is a beautifully crafted symbol of a traditional Vietnamese refugee boat, LUCKY, representing the arduous journeys made by countless families seeking freedom and opportunity. Accompanied by animated dolphins, which represent the guiding support of loved ones and the welcoming embrace of their new homeland, the float tells a powerful story of hope, resilience, and deep gratitude for the opportunities found in America. A bird perched on the deck symbolizes the promise of a brighter future for generations to come.

Adorned with thousands of vibrant flowers in shades of red, yellow, and orange, the float is a stunning display of Vietnamese heritage. Traditional elements of Tet, such as apricot blossoms (hoa mai), banh chung (square rice cakes), and lanterns from the Hoi An Lantern Festival, are proudly featured throughout the float. These symbols reflect the unity of Vietnamese culture and the spirit of renewal, gratitude, and giving thanks.

Honoring the Vietnamese Spirit and the American Dream
As the float makes its way down the parade route, Vietnamese dancers dressed in traditional áo dài will perform, representing the journey of hardship, the longing for home, and the celebration of newfound freedom. Lion dancers and drummers will fill the streets with energy, while Rachele Nguyen, a Vietnamese-American singer from NBC’s The Voice, will deliver a powerful and uplifting performance celebrating the Vietnamese community’s embrace of the American Dream.

Young, successful Vietnamese Americans who have built new lives in the U.S. will ride the float, symbolizing the hopes and dreams of future generations.

Tết: Celebrating Heritage, Renewal, and Giving Thanks
Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, is a time of reflection, family reunions, and gratitude. The “Journey of Dreams”float honors this cherished tradition, celebrating the strength and resilience of the Vietnamese people. As the Year of the Snake approaches, the float features a graceful snake coiled around an apricot blossom, symbolizing intuition, resilience, and renewal—qualities that define the Vietnamese immigrant experience.

“We are deeply grateful to the United States for providing a land of freedom where we can pursue our dreams,” says Jo Fogel, Co-Founder of Love 2 Yeu. “This float is our way of expressing gratitude for the opportunities we have received and our commitment to give back to this beautiful country.”
